Match Report: Magpies vs Sevenoaks

Magpies were ready for their final home game before the Christmas break, full of intent and showed their trademark work rate from the outset, but it was Sevenoaks who struck first, scoring just before the quarter-time gong to edge ahead 1–0. Magpies looked to settle quickly and began to build passages of possession, yet Sevenoaks managed to double their lead shortly before half-time, leaving Magpies 2–0 down at the break.

The second half, however, belonged largely to Magpies. They tightened up defensively, moved the ball with greater tempo, and created a flurry of chances as they pushed to turn the match around. Wave after wave of pressure forced Sevenoaks deep into their own half, and Magpies’ forward line repeatedly stretched the defence, only to be denied by last-ditch blocks and sharp goalkeeping.

Their persistence finally paid off in the 57th minute, when Magpies converted a deserved goal to bring the game back to 2–1. With momentum fully behind them, they continued to threaten in the dying moments, but despite their dominance and numerous opportunities, an equaliser narrowly eluded them.

A spirited second-half performance showed Magpies’ quality and fight—promising signs for the matches ahead.
