Womens 8s vs Broadland W3

18 March 2024 | Frances Taylor
Womens 8s vs Broadland W3

Our rearranged home game was played on Thursday, 14th March in the evening under floodlights. Young Verity Green was our goalkeeper and played superbly as Broadland fielded a strong team. We quickly warmed up and there was some confusion about the start time, but the match began with Broadland being awarded a short corner within minutes. However, our defenders took it in their stride and made short work of sending the ball out to the midfield and forwards. Young Amelia Stott, voted Player of the Match, worked hard, and sprinted up the pitch tirelessly. Zara Broadley was also on hand to race to Broadland’s circle, yet their defenders were always ready to stop our attempts on goal.

The second half began with more short corners for Broadland, yet Gillian Stokes, Daphne Beckett, Becky Holledge and Rosie Baynes played well and thwarted their attempts on goal. There were a few balls smashed into feet on both sides; Zara Broadley got the brunt of one! Amelie Lark, Maisy Woolward and Phoebe Garrard played well and made some fine runs. However, Broadland managed to score from a strike on goal, yet the match was enjoyable.

Score: 0 - 1
